RETURN, REFUND, EXCHANGE & WARRANTY POLICYRETURN, REFUND, EXCHANGE & WARRANTY POLICY
Effective Date: August 13, 2026 Last Updated: August 13, 2026 At JALC Instruments, we are committed to providing reliable industrial measuring instruments and responsive customer service. This Return, Refund, Exchange & Warranty Policy explains the procedures and conditions applicable to products purchased directly from JALC Instruments / JALC Trading. This Policy is subject to applicable Philippine laws and regulations and does not exclude, restrict, or waive any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. PART A — RETURNS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES 1. GENERAL POLICY Returns, exchanges, replacements, and refunds are subject to the applicable conditions of this Policy and, where necessary, inspection, testing, and approval by JALC Instruments. Only products purchased directly from JALC Instruments / JALC Trading and supported by a valid Sales Invoice, Official Receipt, or other acceptable proof of purchase are eligible under this Policy. Products purchased from another distributor, reseller, marketplace seller, or other third party should normally be returned or claimed through the original seller, unless otherwise agreed by JALC. Because many of our products are technical instruments, certain returns may require inspection, testing, or verification before JALC determines the appropriate resolution. Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit any mandatory consumer rights or remedies available under applicable Philippine law. 2. REPORTING PERIOD FOR RETURNS Customers should notify JALC Instruments within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery if:
The 7-day reporting period is intended to allow JALC to promptly identify and address delivery or product issues. Reporting an issue within 7 days does not automatically guarantee a refund, replacement, or exchange. The product may need to be inspected or tested to determine the appropriate resolution. The 7-day reporting period does not eliminate any warranty or other rights that may apply under applicable Philippine law or the applicable manufacturer's warranty. 3. CONDITIONS FOR RETURN Where a return is approved, the product should, where reasonably possible:
A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) should normally be obtained from JALC before a product is returned. Customers should not send products to JALC without prior return authorization unless specifically instructed by JALC. For technical products, JALC may require inspection or testing before determining whether the product qualifies for replacement, repair, exchange, or refund. 4. NON-RETURNABLE OR RESTRICTED ITEMS The following products are generally not eligible for return solely because of change of mind, incorrect ordering, or customer preference:
These exclusions do not automatically eliminate a customer's rights or remedies where a product is defective, incorrectly supplied by JALC, covered by an applicable warranty, or otherwise subject to a remedy under applicable law. 5. REFUNDS If a refund is approved, JALC will inform the customer of the applicable refund method and processing period. Depending on the circumstances, an approved resolution may include:
Refunds will generally be made using the original payment method where reasonably practicable. Processing time may vary depending on the payment method, financial institution, supplier, inspection process, or other circumstances outside JALC's direct control. Where a return is caused by an error attributable to JALC or by a confirmed product defect covered by the applicable warranty or return arrangement, JALC will determine the appropriate treatment of reasonable return or replacement shipping costs. For returns caused by customer preference, incorrect ordering, or another circumstance attributable to the customer, applicable shipping, bank, handling, or other reasonable costs may be charged to the customer where permitted by the applicable transaction terms and law. 6. EXCHANGES AND REPLACEMENTS If a return is approved, JALC may provide:
Replacement products are subject to availability. Where the replacement product has a different price, the applicable price difference will be communicated to the customer before the replacement is processed. PART B — WARRANTY 7. MANUFACTURER WARRANTY Many products sold by JALC Instruments are covered by a manufacturer's warranty. Warranty coverage varies depending on the manufacturer, product, model, application, and applicable warranty terms. Where a manufacturer provides a warranty, JALC may assist the customer in coordinating the warranty claim with the applicable manufacturer, distributor, or authorized service provider. Unless otherwise stated in writing, manufacturer warranty coverage generally applies to defects in materials or workmanship under normal and intended use. Warranty coverage may exclude, among other things:
The specific manufacturer's warranty terms applicable to the purchased product will govern the scope and duration of manufacturer warranty coverage. JALC does not represent that every product carries the same warranty period or warranty coverage. Customers should refer to the applicable quotation, product documentation, or warranty information provided for the specific product. 8. WARRANTY CLAIMS AND TECHNICAL EVALUATION Because many JALC products are technical instruments, JALC may request reasonable information necessary to evaluate a reported problem. Depending on the product and circumstances, this may include: Customer Information
Problem DescriptionA description of the problem, symptoms observed, and circumstances under which the problem occurs. Testing or Troubleshooting InformationRelevant test results, installation information, calibration information, wiring information, or troubleshooting steps, when available and reasonably necessary. Photos or VideosPhotos or videos showing the product, installation, display, wiring, damage, or malfunction, where applicable. Other Technical InformationAny additional information reasonably necessary to determine the cause of the reported issue. A formal Technical Report may be required for certain technical warranty claims, particularly where detailed testing or manufacturer evaluation is necessary. JALC may waive or modify documentation requirements depending on the nature and complexity of the claim. 9. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS Unless otherwise provided by the applicable warranty or law, a manufacturer's warranty generally does not cover problems caused by:
The actual warranty determination will depend on the applicable manufacturer's warranty terms and the results of the technical evaluation. 10. MANUFACTURER, DISTRIBUTOR, OR SERVICE-CENTER EVALUATION Depending on the product and warranty arrangement, JALC may need to coordinate evaluation with:
This process may affect the time required to complete a warranty claim. JALC will provide the customer with relevant updates when reasonably practicable. Where the manufacturer or authorized service provider determines that a problem is not covered by warranty, JALC will communicate the applicable findings and available options to the customer. PART C — RETURN AND WARRANTY PROCEDURES 11. RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION (RMA) Before returning a product, the customer should contact JALC and request an RMA. The customer may be asked to provide:
If an RMA is approved, JALC will provide return instructions. Products returned without an RMA may experience delays in processing. An RMA number does not by itself constitute approval of a refund, replacement, exchange, or warranty claim. Final resolution may depend on inspection and evaluation. 12. SHIPPING AND RETURN COSTS Unless otherwise agreed:
The applicable shipping arrangement will be communicated to the customer before the return is processed where reasonably practicable. 13. PRODUCTS DAMAGED DURING DELIVERY Customers should inspect products upon receipt where reasonably practicable. If a package or product appears visibly damaged upon delivery, customers should document the condition with photographs and notify JALC as soon as reasonably possible. JALC may coordinate with the applicable courier, carrier, or supplier to investigate and resolve delivery-related damage. 14. SPECIAL-ORDER AND INDENT PRODUCTS Many industrial instruments are procured specifically according to a customer's requirements. For indent, customized, configured, or special-order products, cancellation or return due to change of mind, incorrect specifications provided by the customer, or other customer preference may not be permitted once procurement or customization has commenced. Customers are therefore encouraged to verify the following before confirming an order:
JALC may request written confirmation of specifications for certain technical or special-order products. This section does not prevent a customer from making a claim for a confirmed defect, incorrect supply by JALC, an applicable warranty claim, or another remedy available under applicable law. 15. NO GENERAL CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURN Unless otherwise agreed in writing, JALC does not generally accept returns solely because a customer has changed their mind, ordered an unsuitable product, or no longer requires a product. This is particularly applicable to indent, special-order, customized, configured, or technically specified products. Customers are encouraged to contact JALC before ordering if they require assistance selecting a product or confirming technical specifications. Nothing in this section is intended to exclude or restrict any mandatory right or remedy available under applicable Philippine law. 16. JALC will review the request and provide further instructions and, where applicable, an RMA number. 17. INSPECTION AND FINAL RESOLUTION Returned products may be inspected, tested, or evaluated by JALC, the manufacturer, distributor, or an authorized service provider. The evaluation may determine whether the reported issue is attributable to:
18. POLICY LIMITATIONS This Policy is intended to explain JALC Instruments' normal return, refund, exchange, replacement, and warranty procedures. It does not exclude, restrict, or waive any rights, warranties, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable Philippine law. Where a manufacturer's warranty provides additional rights or coverage, the applicable manufacturer's warranty terms will also apply. Nothing in this Policy should be interpreted as a guarantee that every warranty claim will result in a refund or replacement. The applicable remedy depends on the nature of the issue, inspection or technical evaluation, warranty terms, transaction documents, and applicable law. JALC may update this Policy when necessary to reflect changes in its products, procedures, suppliers, services, or applicable law. 19.
